Brick in the head

THE
BRICK

A young and successful
executive was traveling down a neighborhood street,
going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was
watching for kids darting out from between parked
cars and slowed down
when he thought he saw
something. As his car passed, no children appeared.
Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door!
He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to
the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry
driver
then jumped out of the
car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up
against
a parked car shouting,
'What was that all about and who are you? Just what
the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that
brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why
did you do it?' The young boy was apologetic.
'Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't
know what else to do,' He pleaded. 'I threw the
brick because no one else would stop...' With tears
dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth
pointed to a spot just around a parked car. 'It's my
brother, 'he said 'He rolled off the curb and fell
out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him
up.'
Now sobbing, the boy
asked the stunned executive, 'Would you please help
me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and
he's too heavy for me.
Moved beyond words,
the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling
lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the
handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took
out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh
scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything
was going to be okay. 'Thank you and may God bless
you,' the grateful child told the stranger. Too
shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy!
push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk
toward their home.
It was a long, slow
walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very
noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair
the dented side door.. He kept the dent there to
remind him of this message: 'Don't go through life
so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to
get your attention!' God whispers in our souls and
speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have
time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's
our choice to listen or
not.

Thought for the
Day:

If God had a
refrigerator, your picture would be on
it.

If He had a wallet,
your photo would be in
it.

He sends you flowers
every spring.

He sends you a sunrise
every morning Face it, friend - He is crazy about
you!

Send this to every
'beautiful person' you wish to
bless.

God didn't promise
days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun
without rain, but He did promise strength for the
day, comfort for the tears, and light for the
way.

Read this line very
slowly and let it sink
in...

If God brings you to
it, He will bring you through
it.

The ShoeBox

SHOEBOX.

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover.
In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside.

She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000.
He asked her about the contents..

'When we were to be married,' she said, ' my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.'

The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness.

'Honey,' he said, 'that explains the dolls, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?'
'Oh,' she said, 'that's the money I made from selling the dolls.'

A Prayer.......

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;

Love to forgive him, and Patience for his moods.

Because Lord, if I pray for Strength,

I'll beat him to death, because I don't have time to crochet.

My Wish: Great Health !

I’m supposed to pick 12 women who have touched my life and would want to participate in this exercise. I think that if this group of women were ever to be in a room together, there is nothing that would be impossible. I hope I chose the right ones. Hopefully you know how special you are to me and in the world.Make a wish before you read the quotation below. That's all you have to do.There is nothing attached. Just send this to twelve women and let me know what happens on the fourth day. Sorry you have to forward the message, but try not to break this, please.Did you make a wish yet? If you don't make a wish, it won't come true. This is your last chance to make a wish!

"May today there be peace within.

May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.

May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content with yourself just the way you are.

Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

Peace. It is there for each and every one of us."

The Importance of Walking

Walking can add minutes to your life.

This enables you at 85 years old To spend an additional 5 months in a nursing Home at $7000 per month.

My grandpa started walking Five miles a day when he was 60.N ow he's 97 years old And we don't know where he is.

I like long walks,Especially when they are taken By people who annoy me.

I have to walk early in the morning,Before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

I joined a health club last year, Spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound..Apparently you have to go there.

Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

I do have flabby thighs,But fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day Is so when you die, they'll say,'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, Start with a small country.

I know I got a lot of exercise The last few years, just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older,Because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

AND Every time I start thinking too much About how I look,I just find a Happy Hour And by the time I leave,I look just fine.

DID YOU KNOW?
As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view ... it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments! .

DID YOU KNOW? As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the Two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments Engraved on each lower portion of each door..

DID YOU KNOW?As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see The wall, right above where the Supreme Court judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW?There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington , D.C.

DID YOU KNOW?James Madison, the fourth president, known as 'The Father of Our Constitution' made the following statement:' We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.'

DID YOU KNOW?Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.DID YOU KNOW?Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.

DID YOU KNOW? Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making lawan oligarchy the rule of few over many. How then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional? Lets put it around the world and let the world see and remember what this great country was built on. I was asked to send this on if I agreed or delete if I didn't.. Now it is your turn... It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.Therefore, it is very hard to understand why there is such a mess about having the Ten Commandments on display or 'In God We Trust'on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the other 14% to Sit Down and SHUT UP!!!

The Plan

by Robin Williams

You gotta love Robin Williams......Even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

'I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East , and the Philippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere.' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH..learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

'The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' '

Random Thoughts from CDC

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."
~ Melody Beattie

Trying to be cool isn't always good, but being good is always cool.
This is "insane!"
I will face trials with increased faith and peace.
Faith replaces fear in the human heart.
I have realized my true potential and recognized my talents as a sister to my Savior.
Dreams do come true with hard work and determination.
Having great character you can inspire others to have great character.
I have learned to appreciate life.
Every minute we are alive is precious.
Keep being yourself, because that's the only thing you can truly be.
I have come to fully realize the importance of following my heart, holding my values close, believing in my dreams, and being myself.
Become a legend of this generation.
Focus on the positives, be grateful, hopeful, and stay true to myself and my beliefs no matter what..
I'm not afraid to chase after my dreams and I know with faith and commitment I can make things happen for me and I can make my dreams come true.
Be yourself.
As long as you're happy and you're doing what you know is right in your heart that the rest just falls into place and we feel the love of the Heavenly Father and can see it in our lives.
I have made life-long friends who I can laugh with. and cry with. and dance with. and sing with. and above all, who I can be myself with.
I have learned to see the world with my heart, rather than just my mind.
I am inspired to see my purpose on this earth.
I un-learned the biases and judgmental attitude I acquired in adulthood, and realized that to have real joy in life, there should be a release from negativities

focus on the positive side of anything in life, to see the preciousness in people, downplay their faults, which in turn made me so much more appreciative of my family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, even strangers, thus making every day like a new, wonderful time to look forward to waking up and living well!

feel alive again!

one person can make a difference in the world.

The love he spreads through his songs and interactions with people in general is so addictingly infectious, and makes me wish I had the luxury to keep basking in it the whole day!

I'm glad to know that good things can happen to good people.

I have learned that you can always do better.

exemplify the greatest commandment of all which is to love :)

I have learned to smile again, and I thought that emotion was gone forever.

we can respect and admire a young person who still has to learn pretty much everything about life, but yet, he can give so much wisdom to the rest without even knowing it.

After many quiet years my heart and soul is full of music again.

just because I don't think I'm good enough for something, I should go out and try it anyway because you never know what may happen.

I look at the world differently, less self absorbed, more willing to embrace reality

"Life isn't fair, but it's still good."

"Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks."

"When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

"Over prepare, then go with the flow."

"Believe in miracles."

"All that truly matters in the end is that you loved".

FATE
Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing"
It is true, we don't choose when, or to whom we are born, or the gifts we are given. We are placed within our world at the precise time and with the right gifts to do something great. Our call to action might come at an inconvenient time in our life but it is at that very moment that we choose to be all that we were designed to be. Regardless of our physical or emotional state, our upbringing and surrounding, or our confidence level, when the moment arises the choice is ours. We make the choice whether or not to use our gift to its maximum potential.
