* Will You Dance With Me?

Sent to me by my friend Emily! Thanks Em.
Will You Dance With Me?
I know I posted this picture before... but I just simply adore it!
READ THIS VERY SLOWLY.... IT'S PRETTY PROFOUND.
Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine. I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.
How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?
How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?
When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.
My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.
Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to......not something on your SHOULD DO list.
Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask ' How are you?' Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head?
Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die?
Just call to say 'Hi?
When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away..... Life is not a race
Take it slower.
Hear the music before the song is over. 'Life may not be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!

* As I Grow
A thought given to me by my teacher friend.
As I Grow...
Please...
Understand that I am growing up and changing very fast. It must be difficult to keep pace with me, but please try.
Listen to me and give me brief, clear answers to my questions.
Then I will keep sharing my thoughts and feelings.
Reward me for telling the truth.
Then I am not frightened into lying.
Tell me when you make mistakes and what you learned from the.
Then I can accept that I am OK even when I blunder.
Pay attention to me, and spend time with me.
Then I can believe that I am important and worthwhile.
Do the things you want me to do.
Then I have a good, positive model.
Trust and respect me. Even though I am smaller than you, I have feelings and needs just like you.
Compliment and appreciate me. Then I'll feel good, and I'll want to continue to please you.
Help me explore my unique interest, talents and potential.
In order for me to be happy, I need to be me and not just someone you want me to be.
Be an individual and create your own happiness. Then you can teach me the smae, and I can live a happy, successful and fulfilling life.
Thank you for hearing me, I love you!
* A Good Family

I got the thought below from a teacher friend. I would like to give it to every parent at the hospital before they take their newborn child home!
A good family loves you in spite of your faults...
In a good family you can say what you really feel...
A good family sticks up for your.
A good family takes care of your physical needs--- food, shelter, medical care.
In a good family you have some privacy.
In a good family you can be your best, and worst self.
A good family teaches you right from wrong.
A good family teaches you what is important in life.
In a good family people will listen to you and respect your honest questions.
In a good family you have some definite responsibilities...
In an inadequate family:
People expect you to be polite and clean all the time...
Everybody knows you too well...
People are always fighting with you or yelling at you.
There are too many rules and regulations.
There is not enough freedome.
People expect you to be perfect.
You can't ever win an argument...

* Children Learn What They Live

Children Learn What They Live
by Dorothy Law Nolte
Adapted by Anita Baker
If children live with criticism,
They learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility,
They learn to fight.
If children live with ridicule,
They learn to be shy.
If children live with shame,
They learn to feel guilty.
If children live with tolerance,
They learn patience.
If children live with encouragement,
They learn confidence.
If children live with praise,
They learn to appreciate.
If children live with fairness,
They learn justice.
If children live with security,
They learn to have fait.
If children live with approval,
They learn to like themselves.
If children live with acceptance and friendship,
We learn to find love in the world.
